  • Sila Inc., a software platform for fintechs, launched Instant Settlement, a service that offers immediate access to automated clearing house debits executed on its platform.
  • Canada-based business-to-business payments platform Versapay announced it has closed on its acquisition of U.S.-based DadeSystems, an accounts-receivable software specialist. Terms were not disclosed.
  • Synchrony Financial reported first-quarter net earnings of $932 million, down 9.1% from $1.025 billion in the same quarter a year ago. The private-label card issuer also said Guitar Center renewed its credit program, which started in 2015.
  • The most common phishing emails of the 2022 first quarter, according to research from Aware Force, a cybersecurity employee engagement firm, are requests for contributions to victims in Ukraine.
  • Stripe Inc. has appointed James Phillips president of financial services. Phillips comes to the company from Microsoft Corp., where most recently he was president of the digital transformation platform group.
