The point-of-sale technology platform Valor PayTech announced early Friday an agreement with LANDI Global to represent LANDI’s line of point-of-sale devices in the U.S. market. The move is expected to lay the foundation for what Valor PayTech calls a “deeper product collaboration.”
To start, Jericho, N.Y.-based Valor PayTech says it will work to integrate LANDI’s devices, which operate on the Android operating system, into its own platform. Announcements will follow regarding particular device launches, Valor PayTech says, pending the companies’ joint engineering work and the achievement of certification milestones, which is expected later in the year. Both companies say they expect the collaboration to spark device innovation both in and outside the U.S. market. Landi maintains its headquarters in Singapore.
More news from the companies about their work together beyond new POS devices is expected as the year unfolds. For now, Valor says it continues to support its existing line of terminals, which includes both handheld and countertop models. The company also offers an app to support transactions on mobile devices. The technology enables various payment forms, including those triggered by QR codes, mobile wallets, EMV chips, and mag stripe.

In other news regarding POS developments, PAX Technology Inc. announced late Thursday it has opened an office in Atlanta, its second in the U.S. following the opening of its Jacksonville, Fla., office in 2011. PAX maintains its global headquarters in Hong Kong.
