- The Western Union Co. said its money transfer services are now available at almost 4,700 U.S. Walmart Inc. stores. The two companies announced the addition of Western Union in January.
- Grocery chain Food Lion said it is accepting the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program’s electronic benefit transfer card in the 10 states where the chain has stores. Participants link their SNAP/EBT food card data when shopping online and pick up their groceries through the Food Lion To Go service.
- Payments provider Adyen NV has expanded its acquiring business to Japan, following launches in other Asia-Pacific markets, including Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Singapore.
- Integrated payments provider Payway said it is adding Paay’s 3-D Secure service to its gateway.
- Flywire Corp., a cross-border payments provider for tuition expenses and other markets, said it will embark on a roadshow in support of its planned initial public offering. The IPO price is expected to range between $22 and $24 per share.
- The number of sessions on e-commerce apps increased 44% last year over 2019 and are up 14% so far this year over the same period in 2020, according to a report from data firm Adjust GmbH.
- Cyberdesic Inc. launched a network of freelance cybersecurity professionals who can consult on breaches, regulatory compliance, and other topics.
- In related news, risk-protection firm GroupSense announced its Ransomware Response Readiness Assessment service to help firms guard against, and respond to, cyberattacks that lock up sensitive data.
- Transaction Network Services Inc. said Novus Technologies launched its ATM-as-a-service in the Philippines using TNSLink, a networking service.
- Discover Financial Services announced an agreement with Arab Financial Services that will initially give Discover, Diners Club, and network alliance cardholders access to AFS point-of-sale terminals in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
- Business-to-business payments provider Melio named Jonathan Polk general counsel and chief compliance officer. Most recently, Polk was global head of regulatory affairs and international banking at American Express Co.
