Vanco Acquires SmartcareOS and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 1/14/21

  • Vanco Payment Solutions Inc., a payments provider specializing in the educational and faith-based sectors, said it acquired SmartcareOS LLC, a software provider for child-care centers. Terms were not announced.
  • Entrust Corp., a provider of technology for identity, payments, and data protection, announced it acquired HyTrust Inc., a vendor of data-encryption, key management, and cloud security management software. Terms were not disclosed.
  • Fintech Upgrade Inc. launched a free mobile checking account offering 2% cash back on everyday transactions and 1% cash back on all other debits. Last year, the company launched its Upgrade Visa debit card to allow customers to access installment-lending proceeds.
  • Daxko, a payments provider specializing in the health and fitness vertical, expanded availability of its Gains Pro billing technology to include boutique gyms, fitness clubs, and nonprofits, such as YMCAs.
  • Nacha, the regulatory body for the nation’s automated clearing house network, named data network Finicity Corp. a preferred partner for account validation via Finicity Pay. Mastercard Inc. acquired Finicity last year for $825 million.
  • The United States Patent and Trademark Office granted patent number US10,861,276B1, “Method and System of Personal Vending,” to USA Technologies Inc., a provider of payments technology for vending and other self-serve markets.
