Payroc Adds Installment Payments Service and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 10/1/21

  • Payments provider Payroc LLC announced a deal with PayTomorrow that will enable merchants, especially those selling high-ticket durable goods, to offer installment payments in stores, online, and via phone.
  • Zuza LLC said it is providing its BloomPOS system to Payroc. Aimed at salons, spas, and gyms, the technology enables such functions as appointment scheduling and text and email appointment reminders.
  • Payments-processor AptPay Inc. said it is working with Mastercard Inc. and NRT Technology to allow casinos and online-gaming sites to deposit winnings instantly into players’ bank accounts, prepaid cards, or mobile wallets.
  • Visa Inc. said its developers are working on a so-called Universal Payment Channel to link various blockchain networks in an effort to allow users to pay in one digital currency while recipients get funds in another.
  • Wells Fargo & Co. launched its Reflect card, a no-annual-fee Visa credit card that offers rewards for making repeated on-time payments.
  • The national Interac payments network in Canada said it has agreed to acquire exclusive rights to digital-identity services for Canada from SecureKey Technologies Inc. Terms were not disclosed. SecureKey will continue to operate as an independent entity.
  • Paystand Inc., a provider of blockchain-based business-to-business payments, named Scott Bennion its first chief financial officer. Bennion formerly worked for Sage Intacct and Recurly.
  • Nacha, the governing body for the national automated clearing house network, appointed Roxanne Orticke chief financial officer and managing director, replacing Pam Moore, who has retired.
