Most—79%—of Cybersecurity Pros Claim Ransomware Attacks in Past Year and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 4/1/22

  • Some 79% of cybersecurity professionals globally said their organizations had been hit by ransomware within the last 12 months, according to a survey of 620 respondents conducted by Enterprise Strategy Group and commissioned by OwnBackup, a data protection platform.
  • Payments provider Repay Holdings Corp. announced an integration with Flex, a provider of core system software to credit unions.
  • Digital lending and payments startup LexFin launched in partnership with Coastal Community Bank to offer services to clients of the legal profession.
  • The big processor Worldline S.A. said it has acquired a controlling interest in an acquiring unit of ANZ Bank to pursue processing opportunities in Australia. ANZ is said to control 20% of transaction volume in Australia. Worldline last month agreed to sell its Terminals, Solutions and Services unit, which includes the Ingenico brand, to Apollo Global Management.
  • TD Bank said its TD Auto Finance unit rolled out real-time funding of automobile dealers for car loans as they are made throughout the day.
  • Discover Network said it will fund tuition for full-time employees who enroll at Chicago State University as well as for employees already enrolled at the school.
  • MetaBank N.A. has made an investment in Advantage Payment Services, a data manager for payments fintechs. The extent of the investment was not disclosed.
