Fiserv’s Real-Time Canada Move and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 3/2/26

  • Fiserv Inc. said it will work with Peoples Group, a banking company, in a major initiative to develop advanced payments infrastructure in Canada in support of real-time payments.
  • Indra Group announced the launch of an open-road tolling system on the I-485 express lanes in North Carolina. The project is expected to streamline toll payments, among other benefits.
  • OneSpan Inc., a developer of cybersecurity technology, announced the close of its acquisition of Build38, a specialist in protection technology for mobile apps. Terms were not released.
  • Some 56% of U.S. consumers said they used generative AI while shopping during the holiday season, according to Synchrony’s Sync with Consumers survey, which canvassed 1,000 U.S. consumers aged 18 and older between Oct. 1 and Dec. 5 last year.
  • RevolutionEHR, a technology company serving optometry practices, has launched RevPay, an embedded-payments service aimed at easing transactions for clients.
  • Mastercard Inc. and Banco Santander announced they have completed Europe’s first live, end-to-end payment carried out by an AI agent.
  • A digital-currency technology company called 2328.io has launched a payment platform it says is aimed at online sellers for cross-border and other payments.
