Fiserv Acquires Smith Consulting Group and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 9/26/25

  • Fiserv Inc. said it has acquired Smith Consulting Group, a Lake Mary, Fla.-based advisory service for community banks and credit unions. Terms were not disclosed.
  • Reverb, a marketplace for musicians, has introduced its Reverb Wallet, which allows sellers to use marketplace earnings to buy new musical gear. The wallet was developed by the fintech Ansa.
  • China’s UnionPay International payments service announced it is now available in more than 90% of the countries in Europe, with acceptance at terminals at more than 80% of European merchants.
  • Despite recent optimism regarding stablecoins, the share of U.S. consumers who say they’ve used cryptocurrencies for payments has dropped from almost 3% in 2021 and 2022 to less than 2% in 2023 and last year, according to a study released Wednesday by the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City.
  • Asset-management firm MDJM Ltd. announced its Robin Hill Hotel is its first property to accept cryptocurrency as a payment option. The move is intended to increase convenience for international travelers, the company said.
  • Informativ, a provider of fraud-prevention and credit technology for consumer finance, has acquired Carmatic Enterprises Inc., a payment-as-a-service platform for loan and lease transactions. Terms were not announced.
