- The FIFA World Cup, set for June 11 to July 19, is expected to drive increases in transactions but also in ticketing and payment fraud, warned payments processor Spreedly, citing a 36% rise in fake-ticket fraud in the months leading up to the event, as reported by Lloyds Bank.

- The Clearing House Payments Co. LLC said it will be the operator of a new money movement initiative for digital payments that connect on-chain activity with traditional payment rails. With the backing of 17 banks, the program will enable clearing and settlement of tokenized commercial bank money at scale, TCH said.
- Payments-technology developer AvidXchange has named Wade Fairey chief operating officer. Fairey joins the company from Conduent, where he served as president of government-payment solutions. Before Conduent, he held the role of chief information officer for electronic payments at Fiserv Inc.
