Zelle Roadshow Underway and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 7/24/25

  • Zelle, the peer-to-peer payments service from Early Warning Services LLC, began a multi-city financial education training roadshow with Consumer Action, a consumer protection and financial awareness organization.
  • Payments-technology provider Alacriti said Citizens Business Bank launched real-time payments services based on Alacriti’s Orbipay Payments Hub. The services involve connections to FedNow and the RTP network.
  • In related news, payments-technology provider Apiture said its banking and credit union clients can now enable real-time payments for consumers and businesses via FedNow and the RTP network.
  • Point-of-sale equipment maker MagTek Inc. said nClose Inc., which makes enclosures and similar devices, released a new product line for the MagTek DynaFlex II Go card reader.
  • PayPal Holdings Inc. expanded its partnership with Wix.com Inc., a Web site platform, to now offer PayPal directly in the Wix Payments platform and the ability to view consolidated reporting, chargebacks, and payout data.
  • Health-care payments provider Waystar has agreed to acquire Iodine Software, a provider of software for clinics, for $1.25 billion in a deal expected to close by year’s end. Private-equity firm Advent International is a major shareholder in Iodine Software.
  • Block Inc.’s Square point-of-sale unit said it launched Square Cash Advance in the United Kingdom. The service lets business owners tap funding for growth or other needs.
  • Central Payments named Dawn Koenninger chief financial officer, replacing Chad Noble, who is taking on the role of chief information officer. Koenninger served as the company’s CFO before the company’s acquisition by private-equity firm Castle Creek in 2022.
  • American Express Co. appointed Randal Quarles and Noel Wallace to its board of directors, effective immediately, expanding the board to 14 members. Quarles is executive chairman and cofounder of The Cynosure Group, an investment firm. Wallace is president, chief executive, and board chairman at Colgate-Palmolive Co.
  • PayIt, a payments platform for state and local governments, appointed Steve Kovzan chief financial officer. Kovzan most recently was CFO at NIC Inc., a payments provider for government units.
