Waitr Secures MetLift Stadium Deal And Other Digital Transactions News briefs from 7/26/22

  • Waitr Holdings Inc., which is changing its name to ASAP, said it will be the exclusive mobile ordering platform for the New York Giants, New York Jets, and MetLife Stadium, the venue shared by both teams.
  • The worldwide tokenization market is forecasted to grow from $2.6 billion in 2021 to $12.7 billion by 2030, a compound annual growth rate of 19.3%, said P&S Intelligence in its “Tokenization Market Size, Share, Growth and Demand Forecast Report 2030.”
  • PayPal Holdings Inc. released a PayPal Honey mobile Safari extension. The Honey shopping assistant can automatically apply coupons to purchases. Mobile Safari is a browser available on iPhones.
  • Equifax Inc. said it will acquire Midigator LLC, a fraud mitigation provider. The deal is expected to close in the third quarter. Terms were not disclosed.
  • A merger plan between Presto, a provider of payments technology for the hospitality market, and Ventoux CCM Acquisition Corp., a special purpose acquisition company, has been revised to include a $60-million equity investment led by Cleveland Avenue LLC, a venture-capital firm. Presto had been known as E la Carte until 2018.
  • Credit card issuing startup Cardless Inc. announced an agreement with American Express Co. to allow clients to issue digital cards on the Cardless platform but with offers and transaction security from AmEx.
  • The mass-payout platform Routable launched a cross-border payments service to enable businesses to pay vendors in 220 countries.
  • Thentia, a cloud-based payments provider for government entities, said it has joined the Google Cloud Partner Advantage program to allow clients to access its service through Google Cloud’s independent software vendor (ISV) marketplace.
  • Digital River Inc. named Vic Pacor its chief executive officer. Pacor, a Digital River board member, has held consulting roles and executive positions.
  • Mastercard Inc. named Ellen Jackowski its chief sustainability officer. Jackowski had been chief impact officer and head of sustainable impact at HP Inc.
