- Payment performance is making a difference in player spending on video game sessions, with 64% of gamers having abandoned a gaming transaction due to checkout problems, according to Paysafe’s “The Experience Economy Report 2026: Video Gaming.” The research spanned 5,000 game players in eight countries, including the U.S., who had conducted a game-related transaction in the past 12 months.
- In related news, spending on video gaming in the U.S. will almost triple by 2035, from $37.1 billion to $107.6 billion, according to projections from payment-technology provider Ebanx and World Data Lab.

- Payments platform Lightspeed Commerce Inc. appointed Rupal Hollenbeck to its board of directors, effective Oct. 1. A former Intel and Oracle executive, Hollenbeck is currently president and chief business officer at NextSilicon.
