Track Rabbit And Fiserv Clock Event Wins

Sometimes a fully scaled, massive payments machine isn’t necessary, leaving organizers of semi-informal events to run their own payments options.

Now, event organizers who don’t want to be restricted to a single payments provider are a target audience for Track Rabbit, an event manager and payments platform. In an unusual move for a tech provider, the West Chester, Pa.-based company, which caters to motorsports enthusiasts, announced Tuesday an option allowing race organizers to use Track Rabbit for race registration and other event matters but take payment outside the platform with options such as Venmo,  PayPal, cards, or cash.

Track Rabbit, part of the Alive marketing and technology group, calls the move “a new flexible payment option for event organizers” that may be best-suited for more informal occasions such as cars-and-coffee events and car shows. “This new feature lets those organizers run their full event through Track Rabbit…without forcing their payment collection into a single system,” the company says. The move lowers barriers for organizers, Track Rabbit says, while letting organizers “decide how and when payment is collected.”

“This new option opens up new opportunities to those [event] organizers to utilize everything our platform offers for tracking, collaboration, and more, while continuing to run payment exactly as they always have,” says Tori Drach, Track Rabbit’s director of operations, in a statement.

But not all events are of a semi-informal nature. Fiserv Inc. announced Tuesday its Clover point-of-sale payments technology will process transactions at Princess Auto Stadium, home of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League. The move represents a key expansion for the Milwaukee-based processing giant in the Canadian market and in stadium payments.

Six venues out of nine in the CFL now use Clover, Fiserv says. “The Winnipeg Blue Bombers partnership is the most recent example of Clover’s growth across Canada,” says Brian Green, general manager of Clover Canada, in a statement.

Clover, which offers venue management and point-of-sale devices along with processing, will play a key role in expanding Fiserv’s reach in stadiums, concert halls, and other venues, Fiserv says. Overall, the technology in the second quarter processed $367 billion in annualized gross payment volume, Fiserv reported.
