NMI Expands Capital Program  and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 9/23/26

  • Processor NMI said it has expanded its NMI Business Capital program, offering new term loans and starter offers that ISOs, software companies, and software-as-a-service companies can offer merchants.
  • U.S. consumers now expect AI agents to conduct 15% of their transactions, up from 9% a year ago, while 45% of Americans have used or would consider using an AI shopping agent, according to research from Global Payments Inc. Data were derived from May 2026 and August-September 2025 surveys of 8,027 and 8,000 consumers, respectively, who were located in the U.S., U.K., France, Brazil, China, Singapore, and Australia.
  • Yearly growth in payments revenue globally will slow to 5% through 2030, down from 7% over the past five years, reaching a projected $2.6 trillion by 2030, according to the “Global Payments Report” from Boston Consulting Group.
  • Moov Financial Inc. has launched Moov Money, a peer-to-peer payment service developed with Visa and Mastercard to allow consumers to send and receive cash using an existing account, a debit card, and a mobile phone.
  • Payments provider PayJunction said its latest consumer survey found that 71% of consumers agreed that a credit card surcharge would not affect their relationship with an automobile dealership assessing that fee. PayJunction surveyed 500 U.S. car owners who visited a car dealership in the past 12 months.
  • Citicorp’s Consumer Cards unit has launched Citi Commerce Media, an effort to help advertisers reach cardholders with relevant offers and brands. The move comes after Citi’s Aug. 13 agreement to acquire Kard, a rewards platform. That deal has not yet closed. Citi says it has 70 million U.S. cardholders and processes 6.5 billion card transactions annually.
  • J.P. Morgan Payments said it is working with cross-border payment specialist Thunes to expand its cross-border payment capability in the J.P. Morgan Xpedite Remit service.
  • Insurance payments specialist One Inc said Shelter Insurance Cos. will use its ClaimsPay and PremiumPay services for inbound and outbound payments.
  • Adapt, a transaction platform for insurance agencies, has launched Late Pay Agent, a service featuring autonomous agents that automate the process of collecting overdue payments from policyholders.
  • Payments startup YELL, which serves consumers and small businesses, appointed Raphael Blunschi chief executive. Blunschi comes to the company with 30 years of experience in financial services, including 13 years at K2 Advisors.
