Tipalti Volume Tops $36 Billion and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 2/24/22

  • Business-to-business payments provider Tipalti Inc. reported “unprecedented” growth in payments volume in 2021, with volume growing more than 100% from 2020 to more than $36 billon. The company’s client base increased to more than 2,000, including GoDaddy, Roku, ZipRecruiter, and Amazon Twitch.
  • Fintech Social Finance Inc. said its SoFi Technologies Inc. unit has launched SoFi Checking and Savings, offering an annual percentage yield up to 1% and a linked Mastercard debit card. The account also offers access to the more than 55,000 ATMs in the Allpoint network
  • Online marketplace eBay Inc. reported it completed its migration to its managed-payments platform during the fourth quarter of 2021. The platform, which uses Adyen NV to act as a gateway funneling all transactions for processing, generated $2 billion in revenue last year.
  • Subscription-management provider Chargebee said it has acquired Numberz, a collections-management platform, and introduced a new product, Chargebee Receivables. Terms of the acquisition were not announced.
  • Point-of-sale technology provider Revel Systems said it is working with texting platform Voxie to offer restaurants and retailers the capability to send promotional texts to customers.
  • The United Soccer League has chosen Shift4 Payments Inc. as its official payments solutions provider as part of a multi-year agreement.
  • Digital-currency platform Circle Internet Financial LLC launched a new version of its Circle Account portal. The account lets businesses to deposit, withdraw, send, receive, and store funds for investment in digital currency.
  • Payments-technology provider ACI Worldwide Inc. reported December quarter revenue of $466.8 million, a 21% increase year-over-year. Full-year 2021 revenue totaled $1.37 billion, a 6% rise from 2020.
  • American Express Co. and the digital-reservation service Resy launched the “Every Resy Counts” campaign to promote independent restaurants.
