Stripe Targets Easier On-Boarding and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 2/9/22

  • Stripe Inc. said it will use technology from Celonis SE to improve its user onboarding process for e-commerce merchants.
  • Payments provider Adyen NV said it will open technology hubs in Chicago and Madrid as it builds out a global processing platform. The company maintains more than 25 offices around the world.
  • In related news, Adyen reported it processed 300 billion euros ($343 billion) in volume in the second half of 2021, up 72% year-over-year. Volume for the full year came to 516 billion euros ($590 billion), a 70% increase over 2020.
  • FIS Inc. named Stephanie Ferris president. Ferris has been the company’s chief administrative officer since 2019, having joined FIS through the 2019 acquisition of Worldpay.
  • Billing and payments platform Chargezoom said it is working with Fiserv Inc.’s CardConnect payment service to increase the number of gateways available to Chargezoom users.
  • Payments services firm Worldline said it has integrated Alipay+ across its global portfolio. Alipay+ is a suite of cross-border digital payments and marketing services from Ant Group.
  • Digital-payouts specialist Payfare Inc. introduced an early direct deposit feature, which allows payout recipients to access their earnings up to two days faster.
  • The Federal Reserve released its “Synthetic Identity Fraud Mitigation Toolkit,” a resource for consumers, banks, and businesses to combat fraud arising from fake identities criminals create from bits of real and fictitious information.
  • Flywire Corp. said it will digitize college-tuition payments from 529 college-savings plans in partnership with Ascensus, a technology provider for consumers looking to save for education, retirement, and health care.
  • The Milwaukee County Transit System said it has adopted a fare-collection system from Cubic Transportation Systems, a specialist in technology for mass-transit payments.
