Shift4 Lands Petco Park Processing and other Digital Transactions News Briefs from 3/25/21

  • Shift4 Payments Inc. said it will process all payment transactions at Petco Park, home of the San Diego Padres. The deal follows Shift4’s expansion into stadiums and other venues through its recent acquisition of VenueNext Inc.
  • Payments provider SignaPay Ltd. announced a partnership with Valor PayTech to provide Valor’s countertop, handheld, and PIN pad equipment to independent sales organization partners.
  • Paysafe Group’s Skrill digital-wallet unit has partnered with Coinbase to expand its cryptocurrency service to the U.S. market. Users in 37 states and territories can buy and sell digital currencies through the integration.
  • In related news, digital-currency platform CurrencyWorks Inc. said the Barrett-Jackson collectible-automobile auction house will use the platform to launch a series of the first non-fungible tokens (NFTs) for car collectors.
  • MoneyGram International Inc. launched MoneyGram as a Service, which allows companies to access its money-transfer network via an application programming interface. MoneyGram estimates the overall market for this service will grow 24% on average per year to reach $17 billion by 2024.
  • The Electronic Transactions Association released the third edition of its “ETA Payment Facilitator Guidelines.”
