Repay Card Volume up 28% and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 8/10/21

  • Repay Holdings Corp. said its second-quarter card payment volume of $4.6 billion increased 28% from $3.6 billion in the 2020 second quarter. Revenue of $48.4 million was up 32.6% from $36.5 million a year ago. Repay had a net loss of $13.4 million, an improvement from its $83.2 million loss in the year-ago quarter.
  • Payments provider Nuvei Corp. reported its total payments volume for the quarter ended June 30 grew 146% year-over-year to $21.9 billion, with e-commerce accounting for 84% of the volume.
  • Payments provider NMI said it processed $150 billion in annual payments volume and 1.8 billion transactions in the first six months of 2021. It also added easier Apple Pay enablement in its merchant portal, noted that is has more than 300 EMV device certifications, and added 3-D Secure 2.0 support to its online checkout.
  • Payment platform Moca has launched Mia, a browser extension for Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Internet Explorer that allows Moca cardholders to make an online payment directly from the browser. Mia also enables users to create one-time-use card numbers for online transactions.
  • AMC Entertainment Holdings Inc., parent of AMC Theaters, intends to add support for Bitcoin transactions and Apple Pay and Google Pay for online transactions at its U.S. theaters, said executives in a call with analysts Monday. They could be implemented by year’s end, AMC said.
  • Security firm Arkose Labs introduced a $1-million credential stuffing warranty, covering clients for up to $1 million in expenses involved in responding to attacks by fraudsters using automated systems to test huge loads of username and password combinations.
  • Health-care technology provider Vecna Technologies launched its Vecna HealthPass Mobile App, which includes mobile bill pay along with the ability to pre-register and check in for medical appointments.
  • Payments provider Lightspeed POS Inc. has changed its name to Lightspeed Commerce Inc.
  • NCR Corp. said it has received final approval from the United Kingdom’s Competition and Markets Authority for its previously announced acquisition of ATM network provider Cardtronics.
