MiCamp and Cocard Deepen Alliance And Other Digital Transactions News briefs from 12/4/23

  • MiCamp Solutions said it increased its investment and involvement with Cocard, a unique owner-operated independent sales organization. Terms were not disclosed, though MiCamp said collectively the alliance will serve more than 46,000 merchants and process more than $40 billion in annual transaction volume.
  • Payments provider Nuvei Corp. has agreed to process online transactions for Microsoft Corp. starting in the Middle East and Africa markets.
  • Italy-based fintech Unlimit said it has enlisted China-based international card network UnionPay to support a banking-as-a-service platform from Unlimit, which is said to support more than 1,000 payment methods. UnionPay says its card is accepted at more than 38 million merchants outside Mainland China, and more than 70 million overall.
  • Singapore Airlines said its Kris+ rewards app will rely on processing by payments platform Airwallex.
  • A technology company called FortressPay launched facial- recognition technology to authenticate card transactions on mobile apps.
  • Visa Inc. said it will work with Oxfam to enable real-time disaster-relief payments to persons and businesses in the Philippines, Kenya, Colombia, and Puerto Rico.
  • Presto Automation Inc., a payments-technology provider specializing in restaurants, named Kat Hoffman chief operating officer. Hoffman, who joined the company four years ago, filled executive roles earlier in her career at restaurant companies.
