Kickfin Enlists Visa Direct for Tip Payouts and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 5/13/22

  • Kickfin, a tip disbursement provider, said its tie-in with Visa Direct, the card brand’s push payment service, will enable its clients to send cashless tip payouts directly to employees’ existing bank accounts via eligible debit cards.
  • Buy now, pay later provider Affirm Inc. announced a multi-year extension of its agreement to provide installment-payment capability for Shopify Inc.’s Shop Pay app. Launched in June last year, the app now works with more than 100,000 merchants on Shopify’s platform.
  • The London-based cryptocurrency platform Wirex said it has received 150,000 registrations for its app, which launched six weeks ago in the U.S. market. The app, which works with a Visa debit card, allows users to buy, store, spend, and sell digital currencies.
  • Payroll specialist Paychex Inc. said it received its second Nacha certification through May 2024.
  • The Visa Foundation announced a $12 million grant to Tipping Point Community, a nonprofit helping to alleviate poverty and curb youth homelessness in the San Francisco Bay area.
  • Delta Payment Solutions named Stacey Wiles its chief executive officer. Wiles succeeds Irwin Grossman, who will continue as executive chairman and as president of Delta Payment Cooperative, the parent unit. Wiles was hired in 2020 as director of operations.
