Kabbage in Alibaba Deal and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 1/14/19

  • Kabbage Inc., an online small-business financier, said it provides the Pay Later program for U.S. small-business buyers on, an online marketplace.
  • Payment-terminal maker Equinox Payments and payments-software provider Acceo Tender Retail announced the Equinox Luxe 8500i and Luxe 6200m terminals have achieved EMV end-to-end certification on First Data Corp.’s platform and will be submitted in February for validation from the PCI Security Standards Council.
  • First Data Corp. said its TransArmor point-to-point encryption service received PCI Security Standards Council validation. First Data says the service is currently available on Ingenico Group’s Telium 2 line of smart point-of-sale terminals.
  • Ingenico Group introduced a payments chatbot for use in messaging apps. The technology relies on IBM Watson natural-language processing technology and was developed with technology firm JoinedApp.
  • Stack Sports, a supplier of technology to support youth sports leagues, has adopted a software development kit from Fiserv Inc. to enable electronic payments to referees and among coaches and parents.
  • Vesta Corp., a specialist in fraud detection and prevention, launched three new services with integrated risk-management technology: Guaranteed Payments, Guaranteed Gateway, and Guaranteed Acquiring.
  • Mobile-banking technology provider Mahalo Banking has agreed to offer payment services from Payrailz.
  • Mary Kay Bowman joined Visa Inc. as head of seller solutions for the card brand following more than three years as head of payments at Square Inc. Prior to Square, Bowman was a director for Inc.’s payments unit, according to her LinkedIn profile.
  • Paysafe Group said Walt Macnee, vice chairman at Mastercard, was appointed a non-executive director of the payments company.
  • Processor Total System Services Inc. (TSYS) named 20-year company veteran Ryland Harrelson as senior executive vice president and chief human resource officer, administrative services.
