- Forty-five percent of consumers who have a rewards credit card prefer paying with cash for purchases under $10, according to a new study of 1,000 such cardholders from Bankrate Inc.’s CreditCards.com marketplace unit. The median purchase total at which rewards cardholders say it makes sense to use credit is $25, the study found.
- The global board of directors of the Merchant Risk Council, a not-for-profit for e-commerce risk-control professionals, named as its new chief executive Paul Kuykendall, vice president of payment products at Ticketmaster and until now chairman of MRC’s global board. The board named Brad Mares, senior manager of fraud strategy and analytics at Target Corp., as its new chairman.
