Fiserv Adds Affirm BNPL to Carat and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 5/4/22

  • Processor Fiserv Inc. announced it is adding buy now, pay later services from Affirm Inc. to its Carat operating system. Affirm joins Bread, Synchrony, and Zip as current providers. Affirm said its service will be the first fully-integrated BNPL provider with Carat.
  • Payments provider Rapyd Financial Networks Ltd. launched Virtual Accounts, intended to allow businesses anywhere globally to accept local bank transfers from 40 countries and in more than 25 currencies. Coverage includes the U.S., U.K., European Union, and Asia-Pacific.
  • Processor Jack Henry & Associates Inc. reported revenue of $478.3 million for the quarter ended March 31, up 10% over the same period last year. For the nine months ended March 31, revenue climbed 12% to $1.46 billion.
  • Payments provider EVO Payments Inc. reported revenue of $126.9 million for the March quarter, up 20% year-over-year.
  • Payments provider Everyware Inc., a specialist in contactless payments and customer engagement, has partnered with open-banking specialist MX Technologies Inc. to enable real-time payments.
  • Bentley University in Massachusetts has become one of the first U.S. institutions of higher learning to accept cryptocurrency for tuition payments. The school is working with the crypto exchange Coinbase to accept Bitcoin, Ethereum, and USD Coin, a stablecoin. The 105-year-old school enrolls 4,000 undergraduate and 1,000 graduate students.
  • Stayntouch Inc., a provider of management systems for hotels, announced an integration with Toast Inc., a specialist in mobile technology for restaurant payments.
  • Deluxe Corp. said it will integrate the BillGo bill-payment platform into its Deluxe Payment Exchange Network.
  • The Merchant Risk Council, Cybersource, and Verifi jointly released the latest “Global Payments and Fraud Report.”
  • GoCardless Ltd., a specialist in direct transfers from bank accounts, has appointed former Mastercard Inc. executive Paul Stoddart president.
