CardFlight Adds 20,000 Merchants and other Digital Transactions News Briefs from 11/18/20

  • Point-of-sale technology provider CardFlight Inc. said more than 20,000 new merchants so far this year have installed the company’s SwipeSimple software, bringing the total to 70,000. The technology lets merchants accept mobile as well as in-store payments.
  • Square Inc. released Square KDS, software that displays restaurant order tickets from various points of origin, including point of sale, Square online, and platforms such as DoorDash and Postmates.
  • Bolt Ltd. said its online-payment platform will be used by Authentic Brands Group to process transactions at e-commerce stores in the ABG portfolio, starting with Forever 21’s Web site and app. ABG brands, which include Brooks Brothers, Aeropostale, and Sports Illustrated, account for more than $14 billion in annual sales.
  • Buy now, pay later specialist Afterpay Ltd. said its U.S. footprint has expanded with availability at Lilly Pulitzer, Aritzia, Fabletics, bareMinerals, and Crocs and Krewe stores.
  • In related news, Afterpay rival Sezzle Inc. said it is offering its service through e-commerce platform Wix.com Ltd.
  • Davo Technologies said its sales-tax program is available on restaurant and retail platforms from payments provider Lightspeed POS Inc.
  • Visa Inc. revised its Fast Track program for fintechs by adding a “partner toolkit” and a certification program called Visa Ready for Fintech Enablers. The latter feature aims at smoothing the way for fintechs to link to certified partners for digital issuance and other capabilities.
  • Passport Labs Inc. said Upper Darby, Pa., will use its Passport Parking app for more than 1,200 parking spaces beginning in 2021.
  • PCI Pal announced its secure payment services for card-not-present transactions will be offered to contact center clients of Oracle.
  • GoCardless Ltd. released its “Rethink Your Payment Strategy to Save Your Customers and Bottom Line” study it commissioned from Forrester Consulting.
