Billtrust Goes Private And Other Digital Transactions News briefs from 12/14/22

  • BTRS Holdings Inc., also known as Billtrust, said it will go private on Dec. 16 through a merger with an affiliate of EQT X Fund. The business-to-business payments provider went public in January 2021 through a merger with South Mountain Merger Corp., a special purpose acquisition corporation, or SPAC.
  • Payments provider ACI Worldwide said it will partner with payments-technology firm Axerve to offer payments- orchestration services to e-commerce merchants in the United Kingdom, Europe, and the United States.
  • Old Glory Bank said it will launch Old Glory Pay, a peer-to-peer payment system for customers of the bank, on the bank’s mobile-banking platform in March. The service was developed by Cloud Payments LLC.
  • AMC Theatres announced it will issue its cobranded AMC Entertainment Visa Card early next year through the card-issuing platform Deserve Inc. AMC says it will be the only cobranded movie-theater credit card in the United States.
  • Card-issuance platform Highnote said it has achieved certification as a Visa card issuer processor under the card network’s fleet-management solutions category.
  • Allied Payment Network, a provider of money-transfer technology to financial institutions, has promoted chief growth officer Geoff Knapp to chief executive. He succeeds Ralph Marcuccilli, who becomes chairman of the company.
  • Payment-card manufacturer CPI Card Group Inc. promoted Lane Dubin to executive vice president and digital officer; John Lowe to executive vice president, end-to-end payment solutions; and Peggy O’Leary to senior vice president, prepaid solutions.
  • Payments research and consulting firm The Strawhecker Group announced six new hires, including Eric Chambers as technical director, Shawna Kozisek as senior associate, Renae Mazur as client services manager, Christina Otto as administrative assistant, Daryl Seaman as senior associate, and Sam Wares as director of client success.
  • Consulting firm Javelin Strategy & Research released a report on ransomware negotiation, Ransomware Negotiation Market Landscape 2022.”
