Another FI Picks Zelle and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 4/13/22

  • Fiserv Inc. said Arkansas Federal Credit Union now offers the Zelle peer-to-peer payment service via Fiserv.
  • Till Payments, an Australia-based payments-technology provider, said it is marking its official debut in the North American market at this week’s Electronic Transactions Association conference in Las Vegas. In January, Till acquired Zips, the payment-processing unit of Ziosk, a specialist in hospitality payments technology.
  • Quontic Bank introduced what it says is the first ring customers can wear and tap to make payments against checking accounts held at the bank.
  • SpotOn, a provider of payments technology and services for restaurants, has selected MarginEdge to provide inventory-management services for clients.
  • A solution called Chargeflow launched with the aim of helping online merchants reduce losses to chargebacks. The technology is integrated with Shopify Payments, PayPal, Stripe, and Braintree, a unit of PayPal Holdings Inc.
  • Gift card provider eCard Systems said cloud-based point-of-sale provider Toast added access to eCard’s digital, online, and physical gift card transaction processing and program management. Previously, eCard provided online gift card, merchandise offering, and manufacturing services only.
  • Wegmans Food Markets have added electronic benefits transfer and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program payments in 106 stores in seven states. EBT SNAP payments will be available for transaction made at Wegmans via the Instacart Web site and mobile app, Instacart said.
  • A survey of 1,200 small and medium-sized businesses found that 47% would only survive three days from a ransomware attack. The survey from CyberCatch, a software-as-a-service company, also found that 34% do not test employees for susceptibility to phishing.
  • Indi, a banking app designed for gig workers, has launched a digital debit card to speed access to deposits.
  • John Rainey, chief financial officer at PayPal Holdings Inc. since 2015, is leaving to become CFO for Walmart Inc. He will assume his new duties June 6.
