- USA Technologies Inc., a vendor of payment-acceptance technology for self-serve machines, launched its ePort G9 in Canada. The device accepts contactless debit cards equipped with Interac Flash.
- The Western Union Co. said it has been asked by Amazon.com Inc. to develop a service that will allow overseas shoppers to pay in person and in local currency at Western Union agent locations for items they’ve shopped for on Amazon’s site.
- Despite raising its full-year loss projection to up to $520 million, Diebold Nixdorf Inc. saw its shares rise 14% Wednesday morning after the ATM and point-of-sale hardware and software provider reported a 2% third-quarter revenue gain on a constant-currency basis, stronger results from the Americas, and more savings than earlier projected from its cost-cutting program.

Fleet-fueling and corporate-payments provider
WEX Inc. said third-quarter fuel transactions increased 7% year-over-year to 141.7 million, and payment transactions also rose 7% to 117.7 million. Purchase volume in WEX’s Travel and Corporate Solutions segment increased 11% to $9.6 billion.

JCB payment network under which it will be JCB’s first issuer of virtual cards.

Evertec Inc. reported $24.5 million in net revenues from its merchant-acquiring operation in the third quarter, up 13.6% from $21.6 million a year earlier.

EBay Inc., which began its so-called intermediated-payments program last month, said in an earnings call that it processed $38 million in volume so far. The marketplace also reported approximately 12% of iOS transactions so far have been made with Apple Pay, one of the first payment services the new program accepted.

Square Inc. is seeking merchants in its portfolio who frequently send invoices to test an updated Square Invoices mobile app; Square says the Android beta app will allow its sellers to do everything they can do with the Square point-of-sale app, but it includes easier navigation and more features, including the ability to request deposit payments.

Visa Inc. announced it will be the official payments-technology provider for Hudson Yards, a new mixed-use neighborhood under development on the West Side of Manhattan in New York City.
- As Bitcoin celebrates its 10th anniversary on Wednesday, the digital currency, known for its volatility, has displayed what for it is a fairly stable value in recent weeks, trading between $6,200 and $6,800 since Sept. 6. The whitepaper that first proposed Bitcoin appeared Oct. 31, 2008.
- Trade association Epcor named Susan K. Doyle president effective Jan. 1. Doyle previously worked at Commerce Bank in Kansas City and has worked with numerous banking and payments organizations.
