- The buy now, pay later provider Affirm Inc. reported gross merchandise volume for its June quarter totaled $4.4 billion, up 77% year-over-year. For the year ended June 30, volume came to $15.5 billion, up 87%. Active merchants ballooned from 29,000 a year ago to 235,000, driven by Shop Pay Installments, an Affirm program created for the Shopify commerce platform.
- The supermarket chain Tops Friendly Markets launched on online gift card mall on a platform provided by Blackhawk Network. The mall offers more than 250 card options.
- PDI, parent company of the GasBuddy app and Fuel Rewards program, said it is rebranding as PDI Technologies.
- The consulting firm Aite-Novarica Group announced the winners of its 2022 Digital Wallet Impact Awards, including GoCart for customer experience, PayQuicker for product design, Ntecetera for value-added services, and Branch for market adoption. The awards were presented this week during the Mobile Payments Conference in Atlanta.
