Adyen Adds Afterpay Option and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 4/8/21

  • Payments provider Adyen NV said it is offering the buy now, pay later service from Afterpay Ltd. to its merchants in the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
  • PayMaple LLC, a payments-technology provider specializing in automobile dealerships, said it has joined a partner program from CDK Global Inc., a commerce platform for the automotive industry.
  • Payments provider Mogo Inc. said its card-issuing platform, Carta Worldwide, has partnered with LendingClub Bank to issue debit cards in the U.S. market.
  • GreenBox POS, a payments processor specializing in blockchain technology, announced final terms for its acquisition of point-of-sale systems provider ChargeSavvy LLC. The price came to $12 million in an all-stock deal, renegotiated from a previously announced all-stock deal valued at $31.2 million.
  • The Retail Solutions Providers Association, a trade group for point-of-sale technology vendors, has produced a video on “Navigating the New $28.6 Billion Restaurant Revitalization Fund.” The fund was established as part of the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan Act signed into law in March.
  • Payments provider First American Payment Systems has appointed industry veteran Steve Eazell senior manager for the ISO/strategic partnership channel. Most recently, Eazell was with ComplyPay.
  • Accounting software provider Synder announced it is working with payments providers GoCardless Ltd. and IntegraPay to enable direct debit and credit card acceptance for small and medium-size businesses.
  • Merrco Payments Inc., a payments provider specializing in the cannabis industry, announced it has launched its service in the U.S. market for cannabidiol and cannabis ancillary business payment processing. The action comes in advance of what the company expects will be legislative action that would allow the company to process for U.S. cannabis dispensaries and delivery services.
  • ACI Worldwide Inc. said Craig Ramsay, ACI’s head of real-time payments, will join the Advisory Board Group of the U.S. Faster Payments Council.
