- VPC Impact Acquisition Holdings, a special-purpose acquisition company, announced its shareholders approved VPC’s acquisition of Bakkt, thus taking the digital-asset marketplace public.
- Payments-technology provider Worldnet Payments said it is the first integrated payments platform to complete a Level III EMV and contactless certification of Ingenico’s Self Series of devices. Ingenico is a unit of Worldline S.A.
- Payments provider Nuvei Corp. said it has been chosen by BetMGM to process online sports bets.
- Klarna AB said The Vitamin Shoppe, a health-and-wellness retailer, has adopted Klarna’s Pay in 4 buy now, pay later service.
- Postron, which specializes in handheld payments devices for food trucks and restaurants, issued new software aimed at enhancing payments security and smoothing transaction flow.
- (RED), an organization that partners with brands to raise money for global health, launched an effort to support urgent and equitable access to Covid-19 relief and is working with several payment brands to do so.
- To support World Food Day Oct. 16, United Airlines, JPMorgan Chase & Co., and Visa Inc. are rewarding United Visa cardholders who donate to nonprofit hunger relief organizations with five total miles for every dollar donated up to $1,000 through Nov. 30.
- The Western Union Co. named Shannon Armbrecht its first chief diversity and talent officer. For the past nine years, Armbrecht has been a Western Union human resources executive.
