Onboarding merchants is a critical part of acquiring, and two companies are tailoring their efforts to make it as easy and safe as possible. Payroc WorldAccess LLC released its Payroc for Developers platform to help software companies, independent software vendors, and development teams expedite their Payroc integrations. Meanwhile, LegitScript updated its merchant-underwriting service to provide better access to its data.
Tinley Park, Ill.-based Payroc says Payroc for Developers includes AI-ready documentation designed for developers and AI agents, available AI skills to help AI engines work with Payroc, a portal for self-service signup and test services, access to the Payroc API, and access to customer-service reps for assistance.
“While AI continues to transform and accelerate software development, payment integrations have remained slowed by complex documentation, onerous testing requirements, and the technical challenges that come with managing multiple providers,” Paul Vienneau, Payroc chief technology officer, says in a statement. The new Payroc service addresses these issues with its AI-native, agent approach, he says.

Meanwhile, Portland, Ore.-based LegitScript says its updated underwriting service now includes workflow and decision automation technology from Kompliant, a company it acquired in 2025.
This means users will see the know-your-business, know-your-customer, and fraud-detection data with LegitScript’s merchant-risk data within a configurable workflow built around a user’s unique credit and risk policies.
The incorporation of the Kompliant services helps feed three proprietary risk signals, LegitScript says.

Merchant Category Detection compares a merchant’s self-reported merchant category code with LegitScript’s independently detected classification. Merchant Match compares merchant details against LegitScript’s database to uncover potential ties to known bad actors. And Web Content Scan analyzes a merchant’s Web site in real time for prohibited content and card-network rule violations.
Other updates include orchestrating verification checks, scoring the merchant against Mastercard MATCH Pro, a risk-management database and screening system, and enabling acquirers to reassess approved merchants as their businesses and risk profiles change.
