- Money-transfer platform Thunes is working with blockchain-based payments provider Ripple Labs Inc. to offer broader reach for payouts and increased streamlining for money transfer globally, the parties said.
- Visa Inc. said it will work with Ample Earth, a fintech focused on climate issues, to incorporate sustainability information in digital banking apps and loyalty programs.
- Private-equity firm Bregal Sagemount announced an investment in Spark Membership, a provider of membership-management and payments software to martial-arts studios. Terms were not disclosed.
- The Fiserv Small Business Index for August came to 149, no change from July. Sales and transactions, up 3.9% and 3.7% respectively year-over-year, reflect strong consumer spending, with average ticket sizes up 0.3%, Fiserv said, though inflation-adjusted retail sales fell 1.4%.
- Coca, a banking app based on stablecoins, has launched Coca 2.0, which includes a Visa card that it says allows users to spend their assets at merchants globally, with cashback of up to 8% and up to 50% on Netflix, ChatGPT, Amazon Prime, and Spotify.
- Chase said it is working with The Points Guy to launch a sweepstakes involving contributions to Make-A-Wish and a chance to win 1 million Chase Ultimate Rewards points.
- FreedomPay, which offers payments technology in North America, announced it has expanded its focus to the Bahamas.
