- Payments provider Electronic Merchant Systems acquired Paysley, an omnichannel payment platform. Terms were not disclosed. EMS also recently invested in Payment Nerds and Pet Payments, and acquired Peel Payments in April.
- Processor FIS Inc. reported June-quarter revenue of $2.6 billion, up 5% from the same period last year. The company’s banking solutions unit took in $1.8 billion, up 6%.
- Restaurant point-of-sale provider Olo Inc. reported June-quarter revenue of $85.7 million, up 22% year-over-year, with an operating loss of $2.7 million, down from a positive $1 million a year ago. Thoma Bravo is acquiring Olo in a $2-billion transaction expected to close by year’s end.
- The Minnesota Twins and the Major League Baseball team’s home Target Field will use payments technology from Global Payments Inc., the processor announced. Global also said its payment processing deal with the National Football League’s Dallas Cowboys and AT&T Stadium was extended.
- Insurance industry payments specialist ePayPolicy said it received an investment from LLR Partners, a private equity firm. The amount was not disclosed.
- OwlTing Group, a blockchain fintech, launched OwlPay Stablecoin Checkout, scheduled to begin operation this month. The service, aimed at hospitality, e-commerce, and gaming, enables businesses to accept stablecoins for payment, with settlement in U.S. dollars.
- Treez, a processor specializing in the cannabis industry, launched Treez Loyalty, a mobile-phone based marketing service aimed at addressing restrictions cannabis merchants face with advertising.
- Weave, a provider of payments technology for health-care businesses, named Abhi Sharma chief technology officer. Sharma joined the company five months ago from Twilio.
