Payment Attacks Lessen and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 2/13/25

  • Identity and verification services firm AU10TIX released its “2024 Report on Global Identity Fraud” that found 54% of attacks in the first quarter were against the payments sector but declined to 43% by the fourth quarter because of tougher law enforcement.
  • Euronet Worldwide Inc., a U.S.-based processor operating in Europe, said that as of year-end 2024 it supported 1.16 million point of sale terminals and 55,248 ATMs. It reported prepaid processing at 777,000 POS terminals at 362,000 retail locations in 64 countries.
  • Travel card specialist UATP said iryo, a private high-speed railway in Spain, now accepts UATP.
  • Fraud prevention provider Signifyd said it is working with Swap, an e-commerce operating system, to better secure cross-border payments.
  • ParkHub, a developer of apps to find and pay for parking, said it has acquired ElimiWait a provider of software for valet-parking operations. Terms were not announced.
  • Loyalty platform Points4Purpose Inc. added new features to its CommunityRewards cashback and micro-philanthropy service that now enables user to earn cashback from more than 5,000 brands when linking a Mastercard or Visa card to their accounts.
