Visa’s Installment-Payment Test and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 7/14/20

  • Visa Inc. announced it is working on U.S. pilots for a new installment-payment service. TSYS, part of Global Payments Inc., will be the first issuer technology partner, with Commerce Bank as the first U.S. bank partner. 42nd Street Photos, Tire Agent, and The Room Place are among the first merchants to offer the service.
  • Processor ACI Worldwide Inc. reported e-commerce fraud attempts in June came to 3.7% by value, continuing a downward trend since reaching 5.8% in March.
  • Cloud-based e-commerce platform provider BigCommerce Pty Ltd. launched an integration with payments provider Adyen NV, giving its European and Asian merchants access to local payment options in more than 145 currencies.
  • MyPINPad Ltd. announced its Android-based Contactless Payments on Commercial off-the-shelf (CPoC) solution is the first to achieve PCI Security Standards Council certification.
  • E-commerce installment credit provider Afterpay Ltd. said it will offer its services to customers of online merchants Drunk Elephant, New Balance, It Cosmetics, Living Proof, and ASOS.
  • Bbot Inc., a startup whose technology helps restaurants and other hospitality merchants create digital menus and offer contactless ordering and payment, announced a $3 million seed funding round led by Craft Ventures.
  • Blockchain company Binance Holdings Ltd. launched its Binance card in Europe and the United Kingdom. The debit card, which relies on a platform from Swipe, allows users to spend cryptocurrency in the form of fiat money at Visa-accepting merchants.
