- Payments provider Veem Inc. launched several new products for small businesses, including Veem Invoicing and Veem Collections.
- Cryptocurrency platform OKCoin USA Inc. has chosen FIS’s Worldpay unit to provide merchant acquiring and global exchange service in support of OKCoin’s ongoing global expansion.
- Visa Inc. said it will launch later this year an “evolved” brand identity featuring refreshed colors and a new brand symbol.
- Exact Payments LLC said it deployed a new payment gateway in the Amazon Web Services Cloud. The technology accepts Apple Pay, Google Pay, and PayPal, and handles EMV, 3-D Secure, and recurring billing.
- Payments-technology firm Dwolla Inc. announced a $21-million funding round led by Foundry Group. The company said it expects to process more than $30 billion in payments volume this year, with more than 3 million users onboarded to the Dwolla platform this year so far.
- London-based money-transfer service Paysend Group said it has attracted more than 300,000 users since launching in the United States in September. Globally, the company claims more than 4 million users.
- Cryptocurrency payments provider MoonPay said it has received money-transmitter licenses in 16 states and has applied for licenses in an additional 26. It has received exemptions in two others, Massachusetts and Wisconsin.
- Fintech Upgrade Inc. launched its Upgrade Bitcoin Rewards Card, a Visa-branded card that offers holders 1.5% Bitcoin rewards on each purchase as they make payments. The card is a new version of the existing Upgrade Card, issued by Sutton Bank.
- Fintech CannaTrac Technology Inc. said its CannaCard mobile-payment application is now available in the App Store. With CannaCard, users earn points for each dollar spent at participating dispensaries and delivery services.
- Financial services research firm Aite Group LLC is merging with Novarica Inc., an advisory and consulting firm. Terms were not disclosed.
