- Upward Financial, a provider of payments and other financial technology, announced Mastercard Inc. will provide embedded financial technology to Upward’s clients to enable them to launch Mastercard-branded card programs in a matter of weeks. Upward also announced an $8-million seed round co-led by Dundee Venture Capital and Breakwater Ventures Fund.
- Payments-technology provider Alacriti Inc. has launched its Orbipay Bank Account Validation & Verification Service, aimed at helping businesses and financial institutions in verifying data for bank-account-based payments.
- MoneyGram International Inc. announced it will work with Oscilar Inc., a tech provider specializing in risk management, to provide risk data in real time for MoneyGram’s global network.
- Casino-games and sports-betting provider BetWhale Ltd. said it has updated its platform to provide a new mobile-payment interface along with fast withdrawals in cryptocurrency.
- PAR Technology Corp., a point-of-sale provider to the restaurant industry, reported September-quarter revenue of $119.2 million, up 23.2% from the same period last year. Revenue for the year through September totaled $335.4 million, a nearly 37% increase. Its net loss for the quarter fell slightly to $18.2 million, though for the first nine months of the year it ballooned to $63.6 million from $16.1 million in 2024.
- Canada-based payments-technology platform Mogo Inc. reported payments volume in the third quarter totaled $2.8 billion, excluding Canada, up 12% year-over-year. Overall revenue increased 2% to $17 million, with payments revenue growing 11% to $2.4 million. The company reported an adjusted net loss for the period of $3.4 million. Dollar figures are Canadian dollars.
- Rachelle Alexis Lim, a payments veteran whose experience includes head of products for Global Payments Asia-Pacific, has been appointed chief executive of MultiSafepay, a payment-service provider based in Europe.
