Technology from Stripe Inc. will support transactions for PhotonPay, a Hong Kong-based fintech processing online payments for more than 200,000 businesses globally.
According to PhotonPay’s announcement, released early Wednesday, the addition of Stripe’s technology will widen its offering of payment methods as well as reinforce uptime, though the company did not detail the additional methods. The collaboration is also expected to simplify the technical details for adoption by merchants.
Another feature of the deal is simplification. PhotonPay says working with Stripe will ease the introduction and eventual expansion of payment methods in various markets. The company lays emphasis on scalability, or the ability to more readily and quickly expand payment platforms in markets worldwide.

“This collaboration with Stripe is a strategic leap for PhotonPay,” Chao Xu, a vice president at PhotonPay, says in a statement. “By combining Stripe’s global reach with our specialized service, we are delivering a truly unified and resilient payment solution. This partnership further reinforces our core mission: connect the global digital economy.”
PhotonPay’s services include global accounts, card issuing, acquiring, payouts, foreign exchange, and embedded finance. The 11-year-old company operates in more than 200 countries through a network of more than 10 regional offices.
Stripe operates dual headquarters in San Francisco and Dublin. Aside from its link to PhotonPay, it has recently worked on AI-based payments, most particularly agentic commerce, as well as on stablecoin payments capabilities.
