- Buy now, pay later provider Affirm Holdings Inc. will be the exclusive pay-over-time provider integrated with QuickBooks Payments under an agreement announced by QuickBooks provider Intuit Inc. and Affirm.
- BizTrip AI, whose technology uses AI to help manage payments and other functions in corporate travel, raised $1.5 million in new funding led by RRE Ventures. The move brings the company’s total funding to $2.5 million.
- Huntington Bancshares Inc. said it closed its merger with Cadence Bank, forming a banking company with $279 billion in assets and almost 1,400 locations in 21 states.
- Fifth Third Bancorp has closed on its merger with Comerica, creating an institution with $294 billion in assets, good for ninth place among the nation’s largest banks.
- Payments-technology platform Transaction Network Services has closed on its acquisition of BT Radianz, a unit of British Telecom. Terms of the deal, announced in September, were not announced. BT acquired the company from Reuters in 2005 for $175 million.
- Credit bureau TransUnion LLC has agreed to acquire the mobile unit of RealNetworks LLC in an effort to detect and fight mobile-messaging fraud with advanced technologies in artificial intelligence and machine learning. Mobile-phone fraud totals more than $80 billion annually, TransUnion says.
- Coins.ph, a financial-services and mobile app provider, announced it has joined Circle Payments Network to improve cross-border payments flows into the Philippines for end users and enterprises.
