- Restaurant point-of-sale system maker Qu released Qu Pay, a service that combines payment processing, guest identity, order intelligence, and capital access into a single platform. Restaurant chain Roy Rogers was among the first to adopt Qu Pay.
- MNEE Pay, a stablecoin payment platform found that 62% of U.S. stablecoin holders have converted their holdings back to dollars at least once because merchants wouldn’t accept them. The survey, conducted by YouGov Plc, was of 251 U.S. adults holding any kind of cryptocurrency.
- Apple Inc. and Klarna AB, a buy now, pay later and financial services provider, will launch a new upgrade program soon, according to a news report from Bloomberg. Another report from Techcrunch said the program, to be called Apple Upgrade, will be a lease program. Neither Apple nor Klarna have commented.
- Research from Zip Co. Ltd. found that 68% of U.S. consumers used an artificial intelligence tool in the past three months. Among these, 66% used it to compare products, brands, or services. Zip surveyed 1,755 consumers.
- E-commerce platform ESW said ESW Agentic Commerce is available now with the first availability in Microsoft Copilot, the computing giant’s AI platform.
- U.S. payments and embedded-finance company Mbanq announced a marketing deal with United Kingdom-based soccer club Bradford City AFC that will include renaming the club’s stadium Mbanq Valley Parade.
- Host cities for the recent FIFA World Cup 2026 in Canada, Mexico, and the United States collectively saw a 20% rise in cross-border transactions during the six-week tournament compared to the same period a year ago, according to data from Visa Inc. Tap-to-pay transactions rose almost 12%. Visa did not release the raw numbers.
- Cordant, a data-monitoring platform for payments companies, said it has exited from stealth with an $8-million seed-funding round co-led by Motive Partners and Oak HC/FT.
- Payments provider Kurv appointed Mark Alsentzer chief technology officer. Alsentzer has held positions at Paysafe and Pavilion Payments.
- Harlow Payments appointed payments-industry veteran Ray Sidhom executive chairman. Sidhom co-founded EVO Payments in 1989. The company was acquired in 2022 by Global Payments in a transaction valued at $4 billion.
