- Data from Signifyd’s Ecommerce Pulse report found that retailers experienced a 142% increase in omnichannel sales in May from May 2021.
- Grubhub, the food ordering and delivery app, said it has added PayPal Holdings Inc.’s Hyperwallet and Visa Direct, Visa Inc.’s real-time payment service, to allow drivers to receive immediate payouts.
- Software provider Marketing 360 launched a mobile app that includes the ability for service businesses to accept online and card-present payments on the go.
- PayGround said it has added optical character recognition technology to its mobile app, allowing patients to take a picture of a medical bill to start moving payment. The company launched its app in December.
- Oracle Corp. said Sweden-based chain Bastard Burgers selected its Micros Symphony point-of-sale system for its restaurants, including one in New York City.
- Verizon Business said it is working with Mastercard Inc. and First National Bank of Omaha to launch a credit card for small-business owners. The card offers rewards on routine expenses, including office supplies, technology, and fuel.
- ParkMobile LLC said the city of Hazleton, Pa., has agreed to use the ParkMobile app, replacing a previous provider. The app, which helps drivers locate spaces and then pay for parking, will cover 400 on-street spaces in the town.
- In related news, the city of Dayton, Ohio, has contracted with mobile-app provider Passport to cover parking payments at almost 1,300 spaces.
- Payments provider North American Bancard said its data center has received a Sustainability Certificate from Switch Inc. for using 100% renewable energy. Switch is a provider of data-center technology and design.
- The ATM Industry Association said Chris Chandler was elected president of its board of directors. Chandler, president and chief executive of Perativ, first served as president from 2015 to 2018.
