Nuvei Teams with Wex and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 1/27/26

  • Payments provider Nuvei Corp. said it will offer virtual card technology from WEX Inc. to its merchant base under a new agreement.
  • Forter Inc., a developer of anti-fraud technology, said it will offer fraud prevention and identity technology to the McDonald’s Corp. for transactions conducted digitally with the hamburger chain.
  • Mastercard Inc. announced Mastercard Agent Suite, which offers technical support and customizable AI agents to businesses looking to adopt agentic commerce.
  • Some 85% of restaurant operators are positive about using AI in their locations, according to the 2026 American State of Restaurants report from hospitality-payments specialist TouchBistro. The study queried 600 restaurant owners.
  • The New England Automated Clearing House (NEACH) said it has recruited Turningpoint Communications, a platform focused on education in treasury management, to create NEACH’s planned Treasury and Payments Academy, aimed at financial institutions.
  • Affirm Inc. will be the U.S. default choice for buy now, pay later service as part of an agreement with checkout-technology provider Bolt Financial Inc.
  • Subscription-billing provider OneBill Software Inc. said it has integrated with payment gateway linked2pay in an effort to aid merchants and independent sales organizations in billing and cash flow.
  • SHF Holdings Inc., which does business as Safe Harbor, announced it has added ACH debit, cashless ATM, and closed-loop systems to its offering of payment services for cannabis merchants.
  • Acumatica Inc., a business-software provider, has selected processor AvidXchange Inc. to provide payments automation for Acumatica clients. AvidXchange was acquired in October by asset manager TPG and business-payments firm Corpay for $2.2 billion.
  • Sweden-based payments platform Loomis Pay AB announced it has chosen Taiwan-based Castles Technology Co. Ltd. as its point-of-sale terminal provider for its planned expansion in the European market.
