MyPINPad In Merger and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 4/19/22

  • MyPINPad, a provider of mobile-based payment acceptance, has agreed to merge with SmartPesa, a payments-technology provider. Terms were not announced.
  • Fintech AppTech Payments Corp. has agreed to acquire Hothand Inc., a patent-holding company that owns intellectual property in mobile credit and debit transaction technology as well as other fields. The purchase involves transfer of cash and stock, though the price was not announced.
  • Buy now, pay later provider Sunbit said Xtime Inc., which provides software for automotive dealers, has integrated its BNPL service, enabling dealerships using Xtime to offer financing in the service drive at the point of need.
  • SoFi Technologies Inc. said its checking and savings customers using direct deposit can earn 3% cash back on eligible purchases for a year if they are approved for the SoFi credit card, which was launched last year.
  • FIS Inc. said its Modern Banking Platform is now available on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform. The product is intended to help banks build and launch new products and services.
