M-Payment Laundry App Debuts and other Digital Transactions News briefs

• Washlava, a startup focusing on self-service laundromats, release its mobile app that enables users to reserve an LG Giant commercial washing machine and pay for the use via the app after tapping the phone against the machine.

Vending-payments specialist USA Technologies Inc. said the amount of contactless payments for laundry services made with equipment supplied by Setomatic Systems increased 150% from April 2016 to April 2017. Setomatic Systems develops cashless payment hardware and data services for the laundry industry and is connected to USAT’s ePort Connect service.

Mobile-technology provider Rambus Inc. announced it developed the Interac Token Service Provider in conjunction with Canada’s Interac payments network. The TSP is instrumental in the launch, announced last week, of Android Pay in Canada.

Discover Financial Services said it is seeking to fill more than 200 full-time positions in its Phoenix office. The positions are in customer service, collections, and fraud.

The ATM Industry Association released an overview of its regulatory and legislative advocacy efforts from the first half of 2017.
