Kroger Picks Worldpay and other Digital Transactions News from 10/20/25

  • Worldpay Inc. will operate as the exclusive processor for the grocery company Kroger under an agreement announced early Monday. The agreement embraces in-store, online, and mobile transactions for Kroger, which operates more than 2,700 stores across 35 states. Worldpay is in the process of being acquired from FIS Inc. by Global Payments Inc. in a $22.7 billion deal expected to close in the first half of next year.
  • The Clearing House Payments Co. announced banks are expanding their links to TCH’s Token Service, integrating directly for token issuance and enlisting third parties to distribute tokens on their behalf. The expansion is expected to undergird new services, including tokenization of account-on-file data at large merchants and billers, TCH says.
  • Proof, whose technology seeks to verify online users, said it is introducing digital-credential solutions to support digital-asset wallets, service providers, and users as they prove their identity.
  • XBP Global Holdings Inc. announced it will work with the New York City Department of Finance to support payment processing for parking tickets.
  • Some 52% of adults in the U.S. and U.K. say they have “not very much” or no trust in cryptocurrencies, with trust plummeting among older respondents, according to a survey of 3,008 respondents by research firm Aevi.
  • NCR Voyix Corp. announced it will support payments via cards issued by WEX, a commerce platform, for commercial fuel payments at NCR Voyix’s 18,000 U.S. point-of-sale systems. The operation is expected to launch next year.
