GoDaddy Payment Volume Tops $1 Billion and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 5/5/23

  • GoDaddy Inc. reported payments volume from its various commerce services surpassed $1 billion annualized in the first quarter. The Web registrar has launched a number of payments initiatives in the past year, most recently a service that supports transactions through Microsoft Teams.
  • Thinkific Labs Inc., a platform that supports creating, marketing, and selling learning products online, said its Thinkific Payments utility has surpassed $100 million in total volume since its introduction in November 2021. Volume in the first quarter alone totaled $29 million.
  • Cross-border payment specialist Mama Money said it has adopted identity verification and authentication services from Incode to verify a user’s identity at registration, permitting instant activation of the account.
  • NCR Corp. announced Tim Oliver, currently chief financial officer, will serve as chief executive of SpinCo, the temporary name for the ATM services unit the company announced in September it is spinning off as a separate company. David Wilkinson, executive vice president at NCR, was named chief executive of RemainCo, the remaining part of NCR.
  • Cantaloupe Inc., a processor of payments at vending machines and other unattended venues, reported $653.6 million in transaction volume for the March quarter, up 16% year over year on 268 million transactions, up 4%. Revenue rose 20% to $60.4 million on 27,598 active clients, a 21% increase. Active devices rose 2% to 1.15 million.
