  • Global Payments Inc. has agreed to sell its payroll unit, Heartland Payroll Solutions, to insurance fintech Acrisure LLC for $1.1 billion. The business serves more than 50,000 clients.
  • Castles Technology said it is working with PXP, a payments platform, to offer Android point-of-sale devices to merchants regardless of size.
  • Some 73% of product categories are now in classifications that are “tariff-sensitive,” posing added costs for e-commerce, according to a study from ePost Global, which looked at 15.6 million shipments with a combined value of $421 million.
  • Global investment in payments fintechs rose 80% in 2024, to $31 billion, even as overall fintech investment worldwide totaled $95.6 billion, the lowest total since 2017, according to the “Pulse of Fintech” report from consultants KPMG.
