Clover, the point-of-sale system from Fiserv Inc., is embarking on an identity-based utility with an integration with biometric-payments company Wink.
Announced Wednesday, the integration involves much Clover POS equipment to accept biometric authentication to complete a transaction. Fiserv says the integration with Plano, Texas-based Wink is initially available to quick-service restaurants, sports venues, and retailers. Fiserv expects to broaden availability throughout 2026.
Fiserv says Wink can be activated in the Clover device suite, including Station Duo, Mini, Flex, and Clover Kiosk, with no hardware changes and minimal integration work. Consumers can use contactless palm, face, and voice authentication. It is not known how consumers will input these biometrics so Clover devices can access them.

The Clover integration is among the latest such moves for Wink. Earlier in 2025, Wink merged with Phoenix Managed Networks and in December formed a partnership with PAX Technology Inc. The Wink Checkout service also has an integration with Paze, the online wallet from Early Warning Services LLC.
