Eye on Hospitality: Shift4 Lines up Liberty Sports Group; SpotOn’s POS System at Adalina Prime

Sports-and-entertainment consultancy Liberty Sports Group says it will work with Shift4 Payments Inc., enabling the point-of-sale and payments specialist to be its exclusive technology partner. In related news, SpotOn Transact LLC says Adalina Prime, a new steakhouse from the well-known Adalina restaurant in Chicago, will use its POS technology.

New York City-based Liberty Sports Group, which helps teams, venues, and brands with marketing, merchandise, facilities, and hospitality elements, among other functions, says the agreement calls for Shift4 to provide its SkyTab Venue service for integrated POS services and guest experiences, in addition to processing payments for merchandising, retail, and e-commerce operations across Liberty’s managed venues and clients.

“Shift4’s platform helps us unify every part of the fan experience while enabling our clients to operate more efficiently and profitably,”  Joe Scott, Liberty Sports Group vice president of growth and strategic partnerships, says in a statement. Shift4 is based in Center Valley, Pa.

Liberty Sports Group says the number of POS devices and locations is dependent on the properties that use its partnership services. “We service professional sports and entertainment properties ranging from 5,000-25,000 seats. Under this partnership we will be able to design and implement this partner in a carefully curated manner to meet the venues’ specific needs,” Nicholas Desrosiers, Liberty Sports Group managing partner and president, says in an email to Digital Transactions News. The agreement is for five years, he says.

In related hospitality news, San Francisco-based SpotOn says Adalina Prime, the steakhouse offshoot of Adalina, is using its POS technology for its front and back-of-the-house operations. Among them are customizable menus and table layouts, an integrated labor-management tool that includes scheduling and automated tip distribution, gift cards, and online ordering.

SpotOn also debuted its SpotOn X Adalina Prime Series on YouTube, a program that shares behind-the-scenes videos at the new restaurant. SpotOn also supplies the POS technology and payments processing for Adalina.
