Ex-Mastercard Executive’s Payment Tech-Focused Investment Firm and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 1/29/21

  • Javier Perez, formerly president of Mastercard Europe, has launched Global PayTech Ventures, said to be the first venture-capital firm concentrating exclusively on payment technology.
  • Springbrook Software, developer of systems supporting payments for local governments, released its Municipal Payments Collection portal, which supports payments for miscellaneous town fees. The portal is available via Springbrook’s CivicPay payments platform.
  • Bitcoin SV’s Scaling Test Network announced it reached a record rate of more than 9,000 transactions per second, exceeding the former record of approximately 6,500. Bitcoin SV (Satoshi Vision) is a fork of the Bitcoin Cash blockchain and incorporates larger block sizes.
  • PAR Technology Corp. said its ParTech Inc. point-of-sale software unit, which targets restaurants, has integrated the Craftable cloud-based platform for ordering and payments.
  • Business-to-business payments provider Fleetcor Technologies Inc. said it has acquired Roger, a software platform for small-business online bill payments. Terms were not announced.
  • Atlantic-Pacific Processing Systems NV Corp. completed its acquisition of Paynomix LLC, a cloud-based software company. Terms were not disclosed.
  • PayRoc WorldAccess LLC said it is working with illion Digital Tech Solutions to enable PayRoc financial and receivables merchants to use illion’s technology to accept and manage payments on one integrated platform.
